Bound for State!

Congratulations to all the Kelsey Creek Critters who participated in King County Fair.  I know you're all enjoying some well-earned rest after a challenging weather weekend.  It was great to see our club represented by the greatest number of members at the fair.  Everyone earned a special accolade of some kind from outstanding herdsmanship or sportsmanship, outstanding creativity on a poster or costume to reserve and grand champion in several events.  We were also well represented in the activity hall and will have members moving onto state with photography, paper craft, food project entries, liberal arts and textiles.

Special mention goes to Scarlet and Angelina, grand champions in fit and show and holders of the perpetual trophies until next year and winners of the all-around awards for their classes.
Special mention also to Sam and Linda, the reserve champion in fit and show for juniors and reserve all around champion for juniors respectively.

After tabulating entries yesterday, the King County Rabbit project is sending 25 kids to state fair to compete in type, fit and show and/or  judging.  Of the 25, nine are members of our club:  Kimberly, Maddie, Scarlet, Claire, Fiona, Teresa, Kate, Angelina and Linda.  The rabbit project leaders are discussing having a get-together pre-state to socialize and study together and having a King County State Team t-shirt.  Watch your email for announcements regarding date and time proposals for this and information regarding shirts.

Finally, to all the club parents:  Thank you for your cheerful support and service this weekend in challenging weather conditions.  You all step in and take excellent care of the kids and rabbits while I serve in the rabbit barn and can't be as present for the kids.  I feel fortunate to have you in our Kelsey Creek Family.
